Craftsmen from Klaipėda Invite to Mark Autumnal Equinox in Dreverna
DREVERNOS RUDENS LYGĖ
On 24 September, Klaipėda District Craftsmen’s Guild Krikragaa and an international team of volunteers will invite to mark the autumnal equinox and the Baltic Unity Day in Dreverna.
Craftsmen’s Guild Krikragaa initiates the Drevernos Rudens Lygė project for the third consecutive year. The event programme links culture and art, boldly juxtaposes elements of traditional folklore, professional and amateur theatrical acts, film and animation screenings, modern installations, and exhibitions. The programme is topped off by the burning of a fire sculpture, after which everyone is invited to dance the night away with traditional dances.
Every year, guild members set themselves increasingly more serious challenges and are building a 20-metre-long and 8-metre-high fire sculpture consisting of Baltic symbols this year. Its construction brought together not only members of Krikraga, but also artists and volunteers from Lithuania, Spain and Germany, who are already working at the creative camp in Dreverna.
Craftsmen’s Guild Krikragaa is a non-profit organisation, a team of young enthusiasts, implementing projects in Klaipėda and Klaipėda district. It promotes ethnic culture and arts, as well as seeks to adapt them to the needs of modern society. The association is open to innovations and joint projects.
