DREVERNA AUTUMNAL EQUINOX 2016 is a joint creative work of KRIKRAGAA Association, Dreverna House of Culture and Klaipėda Ethnic Culture Centre. For the third time, the event is organised thanks to youthful enthusiasm, Dreverna cultural workers, community support and symbolic financing of Klaipėda District Municipality. A lot of people supporting the idea and willing to participate in the creative and organisational process contribute to the event organisation. The aim of the event is to mark the autumnal equinox and the Baltic Unity Day.
The concept is to unite performers from various areas of art and culture by giving them a possibility to meet each other, to exchange experience, to look for touchpoints of the event idea in a common creative space. Therefore, the programme includes elements of traditional folklore (dance, songs and music), theatre (plays or theatrical performances), modern art (installations or exhibitions), film (animation screenings) and even wellness (sauna ceremonies).
One of the most striking and memorable event actions – the burning of reed sculpture in the Old Port.
Another important part – traditional dance night attracting a large number of traditional dance admirers and enthusiasts from all over Lithuania and abroad.
Vision of the future: cultural connection of both shores of the Curonian Lagoon – to mark and celebrate the autumnal equinox transition together and at the same time.
